30 Photos | Day 20: Keepsake

This gem will indeed stay firmly by my side forever more after being given to me by my best friend Olivia for my 21st birthday. Knowing I love a bit of history and antiques, she found this gorgeous silver locket from the first world war and I couldn't love the sentiment more.

Hello you, welcome to my quintessentially British life of baking, travelling and creating!

I am currently in my final year studying for an Undergraduate Degree in Fine Art & History of Art in Oxford, where I am specialising in feminist art and literature.

I must be honest here and say that for all my education, I feel I lack any real qualification to write a blog. I fear it may also seem that my life is all too 'normal' to document anything new or extraordinary. What I do possess however, is an unstoppable personal desire to photograph the world around me no matter how ordinary that may seem to others. I find beauty in anything from the icing swirl of a cupcake, to the pearly pink nose of my beloved cat.

As a person who has worked her fair share of mundane jobs to get by, I know how it feels to live on a budget and therefore I try to be thrifty even when it comes to my baking ingredients. As a handy guide, each of my recipes includes the total cost for the bake, allowing you to judge when it is time for an everyday bake or a true indulgence!

I may not be Nigella Lawson or Annie Liebovitz, but then again few of us are, so relish in your normality just as I do, and I hope you find enjoyment in the things I share and try some for yourselves, from Canvas to Cake!
